Breen Studios Photography

Our studio celebrated its centennial anniversary last year!

We started in 1906 with the original proprietor, Pete Ecker. For almost 40 years, Pete, later joined by his two sons, owned and operated a thriving portrait studio business, Ecker Photography, one of less than a handful of photography studios in Salt Lake City. In 1945, Pete passed the reins to his son Harold who took over to continue the excellent tradition of his father for almost another half century.

In 1990 Scott Breen, a successful local portrait and wedding photographer on his own, joined Harold at the Highland Drive studio we still call home. Harold eventually passed the torch to Scott, who also stayed on the proud course Pete had set so many years before.

Today, Quinn Farley, only the fourth studio principal in 100 years, is helping set the creative standard for the new century. Quinn, who grew up in Murray, attended one of the top photographic schools in the country, Brooks Institute in Santa Barbara, before being recruited back to Utah by Busath Photography in 1999 to both shoot for and help run that venerable studio. In 2001 Quinn joined The Breen Studios and later purchased Scott's studio in February of 2005. -And by the way, for all of you very happy customers of Scott's, no, he isn't retired! He's still here and would be more than happy to continue serving you photographically!

Now, one century later, The Breen Studios continues to offer only the finest in photographic portraiture and wedding coverage. Our portrait studios, still located in the heart of Holladay, are the largest in the state, easily allowing us to photograph groups of 100 or more. The Breen photographers, now led by Scott and Quinn both, are the best of the best.

Whether you need a formal family portrait of 85, a sensitive portrait of a newborn or child, wedding coverage that captures the whole range of the day's emotions, or something entirely different, trust only the best.
